This is a remote / work from home opportunity with travel required throughout Kentucky to support project and field needs.
Provides remote task / case management support to project managers, which includes project planning and deliverable completion.
Assists in the recommendation of appropriate actions to ensure the client’s objectives are met while complying with all state and federal regulations.
Assists in the design, implementation, and management of various soil and groundwater investigation and remediation projects.
Reviews and evaluates data for the preparation of conceptual site models and risk reports.
Assists with writing technical reports.
Performs health and safety planning and oversight during project operations.
Oversees subcontractors during soil drilling, well installation and implementation of corrective action.
Conducts environmental field work, including but not limited to soil, groundwater, and air sampling.
Skills & Requirements
Must be agreeable to occasionally travel to the nearest GES office (Hudson, Ohio; Blacksburg or Richmond, Virginia or other) for training and/ or project needs. Must also be agreeable to day and/ or overnight travel throughout Kentucky to support project and field needs.
A Bachelor's degree or higher in Geology, Environmental Science, Engineering or a related disciple.
3-7 years of hands on fieldwork & office experience in the environmental consulting field, which must include the ability to conduct both field and office tasks related to UST spill investigations and remedial efforts, monitor well installation, soil and groundwater sampling, and subcontractor oversight. The ability to lead subsurface events is a major plus.
Working knowledge of the KY UST program and Phase I and II property divestment efforts is a major plus.
Must possess excellent communication and technical writing skills.
A laptop and a monthly cell phone stipend will be provided. In addition, mileage reimbursement or a rental vehicle will be provided for conducting field work, as applicable.
